Great dental practice, highly recommend it. They care about the condition of your teeth and provide tailored advice. Good price and great customer service.
Highly recommend to friends and others. My first visit to the dentist in over 4 years and I am very lucky was in the safe and gentle hands of Arundem and Kasha. They were both very friendly and let me know exactly what they were doing beforehand to make me feel comfortable. Can't wait for my next appointment! While I had a few minor hiccups trying to register as I am on a working holiday visa, it was easily resolved without having to brandish my passport, visa, BRP card or proof that I have paid into IHS. Such a delightful contrast to the racist overtones I've been getting from trying to register with GP practices.

Yesterday I had a sinus lift and today I was at work having had no pain, no swelling or bruising. I really don't feel like I have had anything done at all!. I cannot thank Eimear enough for her professionalism, cheerfulness and for making me feel so relaxed . Thank you to the girls who assist her and at the reception too. The care before, during and after my treatment was excellent as always.
I have been with Bite Dentistry ever since they were still called 'Frederick Street' (2013) and before that "The Dental Clinic" (2007). They are private practice but do some NHS clients as well. Cathy, my original dentist is very professional and since retired. Helen Young is now my orthodontist. Twice a year I go for a checkup and twice for a hygenist. This permanent location is very nicely decorated and the waiting room is spacious and comfortable. Magazine and complimentary water. The machinery they use in the consult room / surgeries are top of the line. They take card when you need to pay, but you can also sign up for a 'program' of sessions (like a Dental Club Plan) - which gives you a discount when visiting and on treatments. I recommend them!
To find local GP & doctors surgeries for Local doctors surgeries for Edinburgh and EH16 4DS. You can not only see all sorts of things about GP surgeries which you might find really useful (including whether they are accepting new patients or not!) Crucially you can also enter a medical condition and see where it can be treated near Edinburgh and get general guidelines as to how long you might be in hospital for say a hip replacement. Each hospital is different. You might find this either worrying or comforting!
322 Gilmerton Rd, Edinburgh EH17 7PR, UK – 0131 664 2148
Very happy with this place. All of the doctors and nurses that i have seen have been very friendly. I need regular blood tests and they are excellent at drawing blood. Never a long wait at appointment and quick and easy to get refills. Very happy with this GP.
Cannot disagree more with a couple of these posts here! Seriously, would you rather see a Doctor or worry about the decor? I have been with this surgery a long time and have never had cause for complaint, the staff from the receptionists to nurses and the doctors have never been anything but friendly and professional at all times! Perhaps a couple of the reviewers should change to a new practice that is newly built where the staff have the time away from other patients to hold their hand? Check out the other surgeries in your area and their ratings and that will bring you back down to earth!

Have to praise the staff at Edinburgh Royal Infirmary. From the moment mum was taken in on Monday, the care and attention she received was outstanding. Particularly the nurses of base 4 in the Acute Medical unit. Those girls were awesome. They made a difficult week much easier to deal with. Nothing was too much trouble for them. The whole family was looked after and mum got the best care possible. Words cannot express how grateful we are xx ❤
Couldn't be more happier with the care i received from the Royal this morning. I had a check up to see if everything was okay and Cathy one of the student nurses was so helpful and very efficient. Very friendly. All the best with your future. Xx

Excellent dentists' surgery accepting NHS patients. Having used them for both routine check-ups and a more complicated root canal treatment, the care and provision in both instances was polite, professional and thorough from all staff. They were sensitive to nervousness and anxiety as well as being helpful with prompt treatment for an unforeseen complication. Highly recommended, albeit hopefully rarely urgently needed!
excellent dental services. I broke a tooth today and they have fixed me up until I get back from holiday with an emergency appointment. I'm an NHS patient.

Absolutely amazed how quick and easy it was. I couldn't register with any GP and was struggling with my flu for over a month. Made an appointment in the evening and next day I had my visit. Got antibiotics and finally feel better. I highly recommend this :)

I had a long term knee problem as the result of a sporting injury. It was affecting my day to day life. I went to see Phil at The Physiotherapy Clinics and he gave me an accurate diagnosis which aided my referral for surgery. 1 year on, I am fully recovered and am able to be active and return to my sporting pursuits. I cannot recommend The Physiotherapy Clinics highly enough!
Phil Mac was a life saver for me. I had a long standing problem with pain in my hip which significantly restricted my outdoor activity. The pain would begin after an hour or so and become progressively worse. Following consultations with my GP and a number of tests with specialists, my medical team could offer nothing more than a suggestion that I take pain killers. Phil Mack was interested in my problems and took a completely different approach to identifying and then treating the root problem. After about six sessions with Phil (and having following his exercise and stretching regime) I was able to complete a trekking trip to Patagonia including several 9 hour days in the mountains without the onset of any hip pain. Thanks Phil.

I did not like the first come first serve policy. I will reregister with a practice with multiple doctors and an ability to make an appointment. Always found nursing staff to be very nice.
Best GP in Scotland! All staff friendly, access to care/advice/doctor second to none during surgery times. A GP who always gives you full attention and listens, giving the best advice no matter how big or small the problem. Can't recommend enough.

Peta was great, highly recommend. Detailed knowledge and information
I've used STA travel several times to book flights for long haul destinations. The staff are always friendly, helpful and patient. They are genuinely interested in travel and have plenty of tips to share.
14 E Preston St, Edinburgh EH8 9QA, UK – 0131 667 1030
I have used this clinic on multiple occasions as they are very accommodating with regards to giving me an appointment that suits me, they had appointments available much sooner than any of the other clinics I had tried and they were also able to offer me an evening appointment which suited me as I work during the day. Furthermore the prices are very reasonable and cheaper than other clinics I had tried, I would definitely recommend and go back!
Very informative service with helpful and accurate consultation. The doctor is very accommodating with time restrictions. Much more affordable prices that other clinics I have visited previously in Edinburgh and they were able to give me everything I needed including vaccinations my GP couldn't prescribe.
1 Meadow Pl, Edinburgh EH9 1JZ, UK – 0131 229 7529
Helpful Doctors and Nursing staff. Whilst the waiting system may irritate some, the arrangement for this is very clearly published on their website. Only issue is that whilst sitting and waiting my term I have picked up on several names, dates of birth, prescriptions and doses etc etc. Individually identifiable information should be treated with strict confidence and this is often breached.
145 Pleasance, Edinburgh EH8 9RU, UK – 0131 668 4547
The doctors are perceptive and helpful. I guess the key to a good result or consultant referral is for the patient to take time to list symptoms so the 10min cutoff for every visit is worth your time. Dr Bell, Dr Ling and Dr Boag are our usual doctors and Nurse Heather for our vaccines and blood works are worth mentioning for their attention and kind fervour. This Center has an open surgery from 8am to 10am where you can just come and be queued for a consultation of any immediate concern or phone them to set an appointment. The reception team are also nice and helpful.
20 W Richmond St, Edinburgh EH8 9DX, UK – 0131 651 1000
Good service. I came here to treat my skin inflammation, and they were all so good and patient
I'm not British or European but I have a visa to be here and all the associated documentation, including more than adequate proof of residence nearby. Registering was nevertheless unnecessarily difficult, and the reception/admin staff continues to be less than desired - however I have to acknowledge they must be one of the busiest GP's in the city and their client base must be quite difficult to manage. Anyway, due to their nurses and doctors that I have seen, I need to rate them at least four stars. GP's are always going to attract negative reviews, but by and large this place has always been helpful for me and apart from the negative experience I have with admin, the clinical staff have always been efficient, kind, and thorough.

My wife, Sheena, bravely held out until my first birthday as man and wife together. On that day, I got a great gift - she got admitted to hospice, as she wanted. She passed away a day later. Going to hospice was the best decision for many reasons. All the staff were fantastic. The nurses were compassionate and genuinely cared for their patients, always citing it as a privilege. The medical care, I could not have done at home. She passed away with as much dignity as possible. I went back a day later with questions and they were a great help. I cannot recommend Marie Curie highly enough. I will be making larger monthly donations from now on. A heartfelt thank you from myself, the family... and I'm sure from Sheena... Thank you.
Thank you very much for the short time my wife Geraldine was in your warm and professional hands! She couldn't had it better in the hard time we had. Thanks to all the Staff from the Marie Curie Hospice you are such wonderful people ! God bless

Slow, rude, unprofessional. Seemingly unaware of the existence of the Fringe and that people without a Scottish GP might come to them.

My Auntie Ina was in Cameronpark for over fours years they were so kind and caring towards her so had plenty of activities to join in she was fussy with her food if she didn’t want what was on the menu it was no problem for the chef to make her something else she had a lovely bedroom her own pictures and ornaments from home in the final days of her life she was given love and attention second to none and was allowed to die with complete dignity. We as a family would recommend Cameronpark Nursing Home to anyone whose relatives suffer from Alzheimer’s or dementia for pernament stay or respite.

As a student nurse it can be very daunting passing from one placement to the next and feeling like the odd one out. The staff at Marian House have made me feel thoroughly welcomed - from the nurses to the carers, the activities co-ordinators, and the domestics and kitchen staff. The high standards of care towards all residents - showing compassion and dignity, following policies, and clear respect amongst all employees ( and towards students ), have made this care home an absolute pleasure to work at. Thank you all. I will miss you!
Marion house is a 35 bedroom care home. The home is run by Viewpoint housing association. The home has two floors 2 dinning rooms 2 lounge areas, a large garden. There is Wi fi facility throughout the home as well. viewpoint history We are an award-winning provider of supported housing and care services for older people in Edinburgh, the Lothian's and Fife. Established in 1947, our primary objective is to improve the quality of life and well being of our tenants and care home residents through promoting independence, enabling choice and offering peace of mind in a safe and supported environment. We are registered with the Scottish Housing Regulator as a Registered Social Landlord and as a charity with the Office of the Scottish Charities Regulator (OSCR). Viewpoint was founded in 1947 in response to the post World War housing shortage. In those days women had very little domiciliary rights and were therefore particularly affected during this time. In response to the plight of homeless women, Miss Jane Cunningham, the daughter of a local minister, purchased a flat in Rutland Square with the aid of a building society loan. Miss Cunningham also let out part of her own flat as apartment-rooms to single women. It was at this stage that it was suggested she should form a committee to manage the properties. The first committee, established in 1947, comprised of eight like-minded women. They were to call themselves the Viewpoint Housing Society. As its original tenants grew older, Viewpoint recognised the need for a variety of housing schemes designed specifically to meet the requirements of older people, such as sheltered housing through to 24-hour care. In addition to catering for older people, Viewpoint also introduced amenity and general needs housing for those below retirement age There is 24HR nursing care by registered RGNS the care assistants are put through training at SVQ level. Marion house has a very home feeling about it the residents there are well looked after. The grading from the care commission are of good standard and the standards are kept high by the staff .The cleanliness of the home is kept to a very high standard.Marion house is dementia friendly.I would recommend this home.😀 Stevie jamieson

This was my first massage for years so didn't know what to expect. I had a consultation before the massage started and then Kerry talked me through what she thought was the best therapy for me. Thoroughly enjoyed the massage and came out feeling great. Would certainly recommend this clinic.
18 Bristo Pl, Edinburgh EH1 1EZ, UK – 0131 225 5542
Me and my family have been helped many times here when the usual GP/NHS route has failed. I highly recommend a consultation with one of the specialists (clinic is just to the right of the shop) as they will prescribe tailor made tinctures/salves etc. which are then mixed/ bottled and dispensed here.
Lovely shopping experience with some knowledgeable and friendly staff. I love the history of the shop too and that some of the blends are Duncan Napier's original recipes!

Angela has very nurturing touch, firm but gentle at the same time. Just like mother's touch. It was easy for me to relax and enjoy every second of the massage especially with amazing essential oils blend she made for me. And the best part you get that wee happy scent to go around with you for the rest of the day. If you are in need of loving or would like to give a loving gift I would definitely recommend Aromatherapy Massage here.

Always exceptional service from these guys. So much better than a big chain store and still competitive pricing. When I went off without my lenses or glasses to Brighton, Steven spent a lot of time trying to help me get something sorted so I wouldn’t spend my holiday blind! If you want great customer service and to feel like you really matter, this is the place to go.
sat on my glasses and thought they were beyond repair, so i took them to Steven at the Opticians at Marchmont who was really helpful. He nicely said he would try get them fixed and he did an impressive job salvaging them! Very impressed at the speed of service - my glasses were returned to me within 24 hours. Thoroughly recommend.

My husband's glasses broke just a month after they were out of warranty and no longer stocked by Boots. Jonathon bent over backwards to help out and everything was resolved quickly. Would recommend as opticians and also for customer service.

We brought our oldest son here to see Paul and he was so well looked after. Paul gave us really good sound advice and guidance and a quick diagnosis of the cause of pain. Following Paul's guidelines has dramatically eased and improved the pain.
After suffering from what seemed like a trapped nerve down my right leg for sometime a friend recommended for me to go and see Paul. He quickly diagnosed my problem and got to work manipulating my lower back, I couldn't believe the difference after just one session. I went back a further twice to keep on top of it over the next few weeks we are now 3 months down the line and I haven't felt any pain since and am now able to play football and work (plumber) without any discomfort. My only regret is that I didn't go down sooner. It was a great service right through from the lady on the phone to the treatment itself and can't recommend the Edinburgh Osteopathic Surgery Highly enough. James Young

I went to see Poppie with a debilitating facial pain condition. After 2 treatments, the difference is incredible. As an added bonus a niggling back pain of many years standing has also disappeared. Poppie is a lovely person and her treatments are so relaxing. I cannot recommend her highly enough.
Poppie is a great practitioner! Should you have any health issue she can help with, I can only recommend!

Neil has done fantastic job with my neck and back after a car accident. He is very professional and very easy to talk to. I would highly recommend him.

Was in a lot of pain with my back - pulled it lifting a hoover! I went to see Beth - she diagosed displaced discs, treated it and advised me on exercises to ease the pain and prevent recurrence. After two sessions with Beth my back is now fixed - fantastic! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her or this practice.

My Positive Experience of Physiotherapy when Living with Osteoporosis and Spinal Fractures. Active Health Physio was recommended to me after being diagnosed with osteoporosis, with 4 spinal fractures, unable to lie flat, stooped and in acute pain. Maria gave gentle exercises for mobility and massage to help ease the pain. We built on this base to include strengthening exercises. I have had several leg and arm fractures since my first appointment but each time Maria has adapted my exercise regime suit my limitations at that time. Despite these setbacks my posture is now more upright, I can lie flat on a bed and my muscle strength is greatly improved. I always leave my treatment sessions more energised and in a very positive frame of mind. I travel about 180 miles round trip to receive my treatment and know if I have a query between appointments I can email for, and be given advice. I highly recommend Maria and know that without her input and an exercise regime designed specifically for me, I would not be strong and mobile as I am now.
I have been going to Maria for weekly Pilates classes for at least the last 4 years and she is a fantastic teacher. Her classes are challenging, supportive and fun and as a direct result of her teaching my core is stronger than it has ever been! Maria tends to keep her classes small and therefore is able to give a lot of individual attention and as a trained physio herself you certainly feel in safe hands as you advance through the different Pilates moves. I have also received physio treatment from both Maria and Shaun and again their approach and professionalism is outstanding. I cannot recommend Active Health Physio highly enough.

I found working with Jason very beneficial. I was concerned I would struggle to open up but his compassion and kindness and made me feel completely at ease. He is very knowledgeable and his position and perspective were always insightful. His therapy is rooted in the practical which resonated with me and he has an innate ability to get to the real root of the topic at hand and bring clarity that was crucial for my development, both personally and also professionally. Jason is a rare talent, if you get the opportunity to work with him, take it.
Dr Holmes is very understanding and empathetic. He works well not only to the locals, but he also understands experience of the internationals or the expats too. If you are unsure about what counsellor you would seek, I would recommend to try contacting him.
